Dear Footballgolf Family,

first of all we are glad to inform you that we found an attractive substitute for the International Matchplay tournament in October, which will take place on the same date (16.-18.10.2026) in Verona/Italy.

The course owner Ugo has proved that he is a wonderful host, the weather conditions should be very pleasant at this time of the year and the holes there are very suitable for a matchplay format.
All in all this should become a very nice season ending event and we are convinced that we will have a strong number of participants worthy to play for at least 75 WFGA points – maybe  even in a modified matchplay format that will ensure more matches and less  dependency on getting a lucky draw.

We also want to express our thank to the Hungarian association for applying with their new, but uncertified course near Budapest.
WFGA is happy in soon having a new opportunity for a Hungarian Open 2027 which we strongly intend to hold next year.

WFGA will announce soon when exactly the registration window for this Matchplay event will start in gscore.

The second news is about a new membership application which we received from Uruguay / South America  - and according to the delivered pictures WFGA sees no reason why this application should not be confirmed in the next GA, making  Uruguay the newest member of our growing footballgolf family 😊.

Finally we want to inform you that not only the tournament points of the Euro and the French Open have found their way into the WFGA-rankings, but also that we slightly modified the old rule, that points will be granted from 4 players on in a certain category.

Taking into account that we had some tournaments where we had exactly three male (Italy) or female  (Pavlikov) Juniors, we think that once a podium is complete, we do not want to let these players down in refusing them ranking points for their success.
So the limit per category  is now (and for the 2026 season) reduced from 4 to 3.
