The World Footballgolf Association (WFGA) has published an updated version of the Official Rules of Footballgolf (Version 4.1).

This update includes several structural changes, clarifications, and new rules to further improve consistency, fairness, and clarity of the game worldwide.

Overview of the most important changes:

• The Etiquette section is now officially included in the rules.
• Some general rules were moved from “Kick Play” to “Game” as they also apply to Match Play.
• Rule 2.3: The first player takes the cell phone; the second player takes the scorecard
• The teeing rule (12.1) has been revised: teeing aids are allowed, but the ball must be on the ground.
• New rule 11.4 – Right to delay order of play.
• Clarification in rule 11.1: “further” means further in the direction of play.
• The term “open obstacles” has been removed; these are now always treated as mandatory borders.
• Wrong ball (14.3): If a wrong ball is played from the correct position, the ball is no longer repositioned, but a penalty still applies.
• Ball locked (17.1): Balls are now automatically locked when another player makes a kick or when a player starts preparing for the next kick.
• Advice (9.1 / 9.2 / Etiquette): Advice rules for caddies and players are now aligned with the rules used in doubles.
• Legal kick (14.1): More detailed definition of legal and illegal lifting and sole kicks. The flight is now responsible for warnings and penalties.
• Rule 21: New penalty catalogue for outside influence and opponent influence on a ball in motion. Balls that clearly would have gone out of bounds are now considered out of bounds even if influenced.

In addition, there are many clarifications and wording improvements throughout the rules.
