Dear Footballgolf Family,

we are quite sure that it is not necessary to remind anybody that tonight at 21:00 the general World Championship registration will start for every player who is in the wfga ranking - singles or doubles - with points higher than zero.

You might have noticed that the tournament capacity was lowered yesterday from 300 to 225.

This was necessary as we will have 75 Wild Cards for the associations – which will be added later as the associations of course need some time how to use them, and for this they will also need the information which of their players can register in the normal way this evening.

At the beginning of next week we will also inform you about the distribution of these Wild Cards.

So when we announced our modified registration modus in early January, we were expecting that we can offer between 120 and 130 free starting places for the general registration. We are very happy that we now have even 150 free spots for this event!

Later today we will also add three of our five possible WFGA-Orga starting places for the Dortmund gscore-team (former president Christian Havelt and Jan Herold) plus one board member (Ivo Frieden). This will have no effect on the available 150 starting places as we just add them to the maximum tournament capacity of 300.

WFGA is aware that the World Championship is the season highlight and main goal for every player. Unfortunately in the meanwhile we are so many footballgolfers, and Dortmund is so well located and reachable, that we are afraid that quite a lot of players might be disappointed tonight that they didn’t make it and we already feel sorry for them.

With regards to the Austrian Open we also will use our WFGA-Orga starting places - this time to follow one of our main goals, the special support of young players.

Together with Tomas Neumann (doing gscore in Salzburg) and main host-organizer Martina Klegraefe we will put in from the waiting list the minors Kenez Balasz, Michal Mares and Alina Keilwerth.
