Dear Footballgolf Family,

the registration process for the WFGA tournaments is in full swing!

With Italian Open almost at 100 participants and Netherland close to 80, 
yesterday evening we were able to witness the exploding popularity of international Footballgolf!

Spain Open… sold out in five minutes, Austrian Open… sold out even faster !!!

And yes, there were some issues especially during the registration process of Spain.
Unfortunately after 20:05 nobody could sign-in for about ten minutes until the first players ended up on the waiting list at around 20:15 ☹

We apologize for this inconvenience to every player who was affected by this !!!

In prior to the Austrian Open on Friday we also had the first “Host-Nation-Doodle” to find out about the 30 Austrian-related footballgolfers forming their 25% quote.

One day later, on Saturday, the pre-registration period for the World Championship 2026 ended with an impressive participation:

Not less than 75 of the 90 top ranked players used their priority registration right!
The top 13 ranked women will take part in Dortmund and even more impressive, 
ALL of the Top-25 men will throw their Marker into the ring of  Soccerpark Westfalen!

Yesterday evening all these players were put into the registration table and should have already received their paying instruction.
And similar to the prio-1-registration period of the Open tournaments, they also have 
seven days to pay their starting fees.

As announced previously, the general registration for the World Championship 2026 will open next Sunday (February 8th) at 21:00.

The exact number of free starting places will be published soon and will be a result of the maximum number of players* minus the 75 top ranked players minus the combined number of Wild cards (75-80) for the WFGA associations.
Depending on what we will learn in the next days, free starting places might be around 140 or even higher… but considering the yesterday’s experience… better assume that they'll also sell out like the hot cakes !

And finally one week later on February 15th (20:00) we will start with the registrations for the remaining WFGA tournaments.
In prior to that, for some of the Opens we will have to find out about their host-nation-quotes. This process will also start in the next days with further information to be sent to the affected players from each of the associations.
