Sandfeld and Flink to top in UK

It sounds like a story we have heard before :)

No one could stop world class players Emelie Flink, Sweden, and Bent Sandfeld, Denmark, from winning the first English Open held at Cornwall Footballgolf during the weekend. Both won in big style.

Sandfeld, number three on the world rank was in the lead after the first day and kept his focus the entire competition. In the end the difference down to the skilled German Marinus Stadler was seven kicks and to bronze medalist Lars B Knudsen, Danish just like Sandfeld, whole twenty kicks.
Flink, placed number five on the world rank, won also by far. Strong competitors like Caisa Edvinges and Pernilla Nordgren was leaved behind with nine and thirteen respectively kicks over the four rounds.
In the doubles it became Swedish victories in both the mens and womens competition. Simon Bruce and Henrik Söderlund took their first ever WFGA-victory after a thrilling playoff against Stadler and Bernd Hessel (first time on a WFGA-podium), placed second, and the home team consisting of Adam Keith and Matt Preston. Keith/Preston came strong from behind on the last third round and made a -17-round. Great effort!
More used to winning are Emelie Flink who took a double in Cornwall after also winning the double title together with sister Linnea Höök with a big margin down to next Swedish team, Caisa Edvinges and Pernilla Nordgren. The Swedish/English combined team consisting of Emma Adén and Chloe Harris ended up on bronze place.
The two courses, Parkland and Hillside, was in great conditions and the tournament was very appreciated from the players, many from the organizer country. A guess is that virtually everyone want to see another WFGA-tournament in the future at Cornwall Footballgolf.
