Footballgolf

Introduction
Footballgolf or Soccergolf is a sport in which individual players strike a football into a hole using their feet. The game of footballgolf has borrowed a lot of ideas from ordinary golf.

Play of the game
Every game of footballgolf is based on playing a number of holes in a given order. A round typically consists of 18 holes that are played in the order determined by the course layout. A hole of footballgolf consists of kicking a ball from a tee (a marked area designated for the first kick of a hole), and once the ball comes to rest, kicking it again. This process is repeated until the ball is in the hole. The goal is to kick the ball in to the hole with as few kicks as possible.

Par
A hole is classified by its par, the number of kicks a skilled footballgolfer should require to complete the hole. For example, a skilled footballgolfer expects to reach the green on a par-four hole in two kicks, one from the tee and another, second kick to the green and then kick the football into the hole with two putts. Traditionally, a footballgolf hole is either a par-two. -three, -four or -five.

Scoring
The goal is to play as few kicks per round as possible.

Penalties
Penalties are incurred in certain situations. Most often a penalty is assessed because a player has kicked the ball into a situation from which they cannot or choose not to play the ball as it lies. Penalties are counted towards a player's score as if they were an extra kick at the ball.
